Neville Swaine is one of the foremost painters and illustrators in Yorkshire. He studied drawing & painting at Bradford College of Art, after which he worked in advertising as a designer and illustrator and then as a freelance illustrator producing work for most of the top Advertising Agencies and TV Broadcasters, for whom he painted portraits of some of the top TV and Film stars. In fact he still has a letter from Alan Whicker thanking him for his portrait that is "mounted on the wall in my dining room."
Unlike the majority of artists, Neville’s paintings mostly have figures in a scene and are often the focus of the scene. “Figures give a painting movement and fluidity and often give more emotion.” This ability to draw and paint 'people' sometimes with no reference, is quite rare now. “Only a few artists can draw figures accurately. Many don’t even try!"
